California: At least 17 dead after mudslides and floods

At least 17 people died when mudslides triggered by heavy rain destroyed houses and swept away cars in southern California. A rescue operation is under way to find more than a dozen missing people and to reach hundreds of others who are stranded in the disaster zone.
